PAPAGO DECK PARK at Central Avenue in Phoenix Arizona
Now known as Margaret T. Hance Park including The Phoenix Trolley Museum, The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix, The Burton Barr Library and the Phoenix Center for Arts. Designed in collaboration with ADOT, Urban Innovations Group and HNTB Pheonix and built over the I-10 Interstate Highway. The concept is three parks in one-the neighborhood park to the east which expands an existing arts center and preserves historic homes and a church; the center urban park-a hardscape with a passage under the central avenue bridge and incorporates foundations for the Will Bruder designed Phoenix Public Library; and the culture park to the west linked to the historic Barry Goldwater High School and preserves many historic houses while encouraging infill housing and cultural facilities.
